Counter Not Resetting
My Counter Did Not Reset
If your order counter still shows yesterday's number after midnight, or your weekly count did not clear on Monday morning, the most likely cause is a timezone mismatch.
Step 1: Check Your Timezone
This solves the vast majority of reset issues.
- Go to Settings in OrderRules
- Find the Timezone section
- Verify it matches your actual location
If your store is in New York but the timezone is set to UTC, midnight will occur five hours earlier than you expect. Your counter would actually reset at 7 PM Eastern instead of midnight.
Fix: Select the correct timezone and click Save.
Step 2: Wait a Few Minutes
Resets can take one to two minutes to process after midnight. If you check at exactly 12:00 AM, the counter may not have cleared yet. Refresh the dashboard at 12:02 or 12:03 AM.
Step 3: Refresh the Dashboard
The dashboard display sometimes needs a manual page reload to show the updated count. Press Ctrl+Shift+R (or Cmd+Shift+R on Mac) for a hard refresh.
Step 4: Verify the Reset Schedule
Make sure you are checking at the right time for your limit type:
- Daily: Resets at midnight every night
- Weekly: Resets at midnight Sunday to Monday
- Monthly: Resets at midnight on the 1st of the month
A weekly counter will not reset on Wednesday night. It only clears at the start of Monday.
Step 5: Check for Error Messages
Look at the dashboard for any error indicators. If you see a warning or error badge, take a screenshot and send it to support.
Request a Manual Reset
If you need an immediate reset (for example, after running tests that inflated your count), email support@efoli.com with:
- Your store URL
- Which counter needs resetting (daily, weekly, or monthly)
- The date and time of the issue
The support team can reset your counter manually.
Preventing Future Issues
- Set your timezone correctly during initial setup and avoid changing it unless you physically relocate your business
- Bookmark the Settings page so you can quickly verify your timezone if something seems off
- Remember that all resets use your configured timezone, not your browser's local time
